The first UK app that walks with you before, during, and after preventable loss.

Two modes. One app. You decide which one you are in.

Built for the families the maternity app store was not built for.

Most pregnancy apps were not designed with Black, Asian and minoritised women at the centre. They do not ask the questions that matter. They do not flag the pathways your history places you on. They do not know what to do if the worst happens, and most quietly disappear at the moment you need them most.

Elkan's Companion is different. It is built by parents who lived this, validated by clinicians, and shaped around one principle: you are in control of the journey, at every stage, in both directions.

Two modes. One app. One continuous relationship.

You decide which mode you are in. The app does not decide for you.

MODE ONE

Protect Mode

For women planning a pregnancy or already pregnant.

• A personal risk profile from your cervical history and the factors national guidance says matter.

• Appointment preparation tailored to each stage, with the questions to ask at booking, scan, and every visit.

• A pathway tracker showing what should be happening, when, and what to do if it is not.

• Plain-English explainers on LLETZ, cervical length, and the Saving Babies' Lives pathway.

MODE TWO

Walk Mode

For families recovering from loss, on their own timing.

• Activated only by you. Never by the system. Never automatically.

• When you are ready, the app pivots into recovery: coaching modules, journal prompts, partner content.

• The intake door to the Elkan's Light Coaching Programme.

• Your history carries across. You do not retell your story to a new app, helpline, or charity.

"We will not decide for a bereaved parent that they are now a bereaved parent. The user controls the switch. The app waits with them. That is the difference between technology that supports and technology that imposes."

Elkan's Light, founding principle

Who Companion is for

Planning a pregnancy

You have had a LLETZ, a cone biopsy, or a previous loss, and you want to know what your pathway should look like before you reach the booking room.

Currently pregnant

You are in pregnancy now and you want a clear, calm reference for what national guidance says should be happening, and the questions to ask if it is not.

After loss, when ready

You have lost a baby, and when you are ready, you want a structure to walk forward with, on your own timing, not someone else’s.

How it works

01

Join the Waitlist

We are building Companion in the open, with women who will use it. Joining the waitlist gives you early access and shapes what gets built.

02

Build your profile

A short series of questions, designed by clinicians and parents, that maps your history against national pathway guidance.

03

Use Protect Mode through pregnancy

Appointment prep, pathway tracking, the questions to ask, and clear next steps when something is not happening that should be.

04

If the worst happens, you decide what next

Walk Mode activates only when you choose. We do not nudge. We do not pressure. We wait, and we are here.
